The Hurt Building, a highrise office building in Downtown Atlanta, was developed by Joel Hurt and designed by J.E.R. Carpenter, Jr. The western part of the building was built in 1913. A courtyard, entry rotunda, and two eastern wings were built from 1924 to 1926. It was renovated from 1983 to 1985. Standing at 250 ft (76 m) tall, the Hurt Building has 17 floors, 12 elevators, and a floor area of 436,340 sq ft (40,537 sq m). It was designed in the Neoclassical style and has a steel frame. The lower 4 floors envelope the entire block, except for the western building apex, which was set back 30 ft (9 m), and the upper 13 floors, configured in a “V” shape, are appointed by an open light well. The Hurt Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 13, 1977. It earned LEED EB: O&M Gold certification in 2009.

The Hurt Building was featured in the TV series "Matlock" as the building that the title character works out of.
