 office building, school

10-story Neo-Classical office building completed in 1922. Designed by Newton C. Bond and Andrew J. Sauer & Co., it is clad in beige brick above a 2-story limestone base. The ground floor has entrances at both ends; the eastern one has been remodeled with a surround of grey marble. It has glass double-doors and sidelights below a panel of vertical metal ribs with a metal number 17 superimposed in it. The west bay is a freight entrance with a metal gate. In between there is a tripartite center bay (with a central set of glass double-doors in a stainless-steel frame), and a smaller bay of tall windows on either side. At the top of this section are the carved words "AMERICAN BOSCH MAGNETO CORPORATION". The 2nd floor has five windows in the center section, with another single-window at both end bays, framed by slightly-projecting paneled piers. The base is capped by a dentiled stone cornice.

The midsection of the facade has the same pattern of five center windows (the middle three grouped slightly closer together) and slightly-projecting end bays also with single-windows. At the 3rd floor the end bay windows have stone surrounds topped by triangular pediments. The other windows have simple stone sills. Another stone cornice sets off the top two floors, which have paneled 2-story pilasters at the middle bays, and paneled stone spandrels between the floors. The facade is crowned by a bracketed beige metal roof cornice.

The west elevation is clad in brick, with four bays of windows with 3-over-2 panes to the south of a light well. There are two more bays north of the light well, which is has each wall lined with two bays of matching windows. A round water tower is visible at the northwest corner of the roof.

Most recently occupied by the NYIT Bosch Hall - Technology Information, it is now the The Shefa School.
