Wright Field opened to the public for the 2015 baseball season. The state-of-the-art facility builds on existing renovations that included, turf installation, sunken dugouts and chair-back seating. New additions include a shade canopy with ceiling fans over the seating areas; a plaza level raised to the top of the dugout on the home side; brick-paver flooring reminiscent of major league ballparks; a new press box furnished with high-end sound and communications equipment capable of supporting video broadcasting needs; a hitting area with canopy-structured housing; and turfed bullpen areas constructed outside the field of play. The new fencing around the field is the hallmark of designation in the upgrades. Custom masonry columns extend to both sides of the 16’ center field wall, while wrought-iron fencing will allow for game viewing outside the venue.
