Tehsil Siddapur, District Uttar Kannada(Karwar), Karnataka.
Siddapura is a town and the headquarters of Siddapura taluk in Uttara Kannada district of the state of Karnataka in southern India.
Demography:- As of 2005[update] India census- Siddapur had a population of 17,849. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Siddapur has an average literacy rate of 81%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 72%. In Siddapur, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age. Kannada is the most widely spoken language.
Mostly Havyaks, Gaud Saraswats, Daivajnas, Christians, and Muslims inhabited the town of Siddapur.
Economy & occupations:-
The main occupation of the residents of Siddapur is agriculture. Supari (Arecanut) is the primary business of the people. Other than arecanut, commodities like paddy, coffee, pineapple, cardamom, coconut, pepper and vanilla are also grown.
Tourist attractions:-Siddapur, is located in the Malnad region, within the Western Ghats. There are forests and hills around Siddapur that are attractive for trekking. There are quite a few waterfalls near Siddapur, the important ones being:
