Residence built c. 1928 in the Colonial style for Wesley Sherwood Bessell {architect}. Bessell was a graduate of Columbia University who served as an independent architect. He was known for his Long Island comissions such as the "Hemlock Hollow" estate home in Plandome, residence of Frank T. Lyon in Port Washington, and the Dunstone Garden Apartments in Great Neck.

He also designed several post office buildings throughout New Jersey as part of the WPA.
