Built c. 1904 by James Marino (born Giacomo Damita) from rock and sand extracted from his Hempstead Harbor sandbank. Marino was among the first Italian immigrants to come to Port Washington in 1885 and established a large industrial enterprise. His estate was demolished in the 1970's.
