Residence built c. 1924 in the Colonial style on 11 acres of land for John Henry Clowes, Sr {financier}. In addition to being an accountant, Cloes served as an investment and mortgage manager for Bowery Savings Bank of New York City (now Capital One Bank). The estate also has a sprawling farm group of a massive clapboard barns and ice house which remain extant.
