The holy water from the ayazmo near the Berkovitsa Village of Balyuvitsa mainly heals the eyes. The place itself is picturesque, shrouded in mystery. The medicinal well has existed for centuries, but after the earthquake in Vranca in 1977, it was covered by rocks. After that, the miracle happened, the huge stones settled themselves and the clear stream flowed. It was restored on July 29, 2005 and consecrated by Bishop Nestor. A 250-meter eco-path takes people to the healing spring, where lay people have hung icons of the Holy Virgin and Jesus Christ. The water contains magnesium and mainly cures the eyes and diseases of the nervous system, explains the deputy mayor of Balyuvitsa, Todor Milkov, and shows a certificate for it.
