Hickson is an unincorporated community in Cass County, North Dakota, USA. Hickson developed as a railroad depot village, along the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad built during 1885. This Milwaukee Road Railroad townsite was founded in 1883 in the north half of section 24-137-49, Pleasant Township by Richard S. Tyler, a Fargo realtor. The name notes the 1869 arrival in this area of Ole, Andrew, Lewis, Haakon, Martin, August and Carl, all sons of Haakon Hicks. The post office was established June 23, 1884 with Alfred M. Hovland as Postmaster. The elevation is 915, and the village, which never incorporated, reached a peak population of 125 in 1890, with a decline to just 47 in 1975. The post office, Zip Code 58044, closed December 31, 1975 with mail to Horace.
