Tudor style home built for James Watson Webb, circa 1915, by Cross and Cross. Son of William Seward Webb and Eliza Osgood Vanderbilt Webb {Shellburne Farms in Vermont}. James Webb's daughter, Electra, married Dunbar Bostwick. Had a Tiffany Studios interior when built. James W. O'connor designed tennis building now gone. Now the Syosset-Woodbury Community Park.

  • We always referred to it as the "Tinker Mansion", named after the last owner of the estate before it became a Town of Oyster Bay Community Park. Just to its west and across the street was the Tinker Barn Theatre which was razed in the 1960's.
