Estate home designed c. 1931 by David Adler in the Georgian Revival style on originally 80 acres of land for Evelyn Marshall Field, former wife of Marshall Field, III. The home was patterned after Robert E. Lee's "Stratford Hall" and had interiors designed by Frances Elkins. Field had lived at "Caumsett" in Lloyds Neck prior. Field commissioned Innocenti & Webel to design a large lawn forecourt with parallel elms and rear lawn in 1936 for the estate. The house was rented to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor in the 40's.

The central portion of the house was demolished in the 1950's; recently a simpler version was constructed as a hollow shell between the wings to fill the gap to a design by Austin T. Gray Architect. A six-car garage with chauffeur's apartment and greenhouse also survive.

In 2015, the estate was purchased by an anonymous Chinese buyer who planned a subdivision.
