 interesting place, apartment building

174-foot, 20-story mid-century modern cooperative-apartment completed in 1964. Designed by S. J. Kessler & Sons, it is clad in red brick, with the ground floor on the avenue having a 3-bay section of reddish-brown granite just south of center. The southern of these three bays has the main entrance, with glass double-doors and sidelights below a grey metal canopy extending out over the sidewalk. The other two bays to the north have a double-window and a 4-pane window band. The rest of the ground-floor bays correspond to those on the upper floors. There are nine on the east facade: from south to north, they have a double-window, two triple-windows, a double-window, two 5-window bands, two double-windows, and a triple-window, all with dark-grey metal framing, and through-wall air-conditioning units below them. A series of terraces setbacks begins at the end bays above the 14th floor, with some angled ends on the higher floors, and metal railings.

The south facade on 24th Street has, from west to east, a 5-window band, a triple-window, two double-windows, and a triple-window. On the ground floor the west bay is replaced by a recessed metal service door next to a triple-window, and the east bay is replaced by a double-window paired with another metal service door. There are more terraced setbacks above the 14th floor.

The north facade has, from east to west, two double-windows, a single-window, and a triple-window, with shallower setbacks beginning above the 14th floor. The building contains 206 apartments.
