Auburndale is a neighborhood in the northern eastern part of the New York City borough of Queens, between Bayside and Murray Hill. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community Board 11.
The name comes from Auburndale, Massachusetts, the home of L. H. Green who developed the community starting in 1901, when the Long Island Railroad started offering train service to the area.
The area is the site of the Long Island Rail Road Auburndale station on the Port Washington Branch, providing regular service to and from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan.It is served by FDNY Eng Co. 320 & Ladder Co. 167 at Francis Lewis Blvd, 36-18, nicknamed the "Kings of Queens".
