Dutch Colonial residence built c. 1912 for an unknown owner. It was subsequently purchased by Christopher Morley {poet, essayist, journalist}. Morley is especially known for his novels Kitty Foyle and Thunder On the Left in addition to writing poetry. He purchased the home in 1920 and installed inviting Latin phrases on top of the bookcases in the home's den. He utilized its location in order to commute to Manhattan via train. In addition on the property was his studio known as The Knothole which was moved to nearby Christopher Morley Park along with its original furniture and bookcases.
Morley's main residence was demolished in 2011.
