ruins, LIGC - Long Island Gold Coast, interesting place
Large structural remnant from the garden retaining wall for "Spring Hill" which was designed c. 1903 by John Russell Pope. After the main house was demolished, a small portion of the basement remained intact which included a hidden wine cellar likely dating to the time of Prohibition.
Recent photos of the basement's interior (now gutted) can be found in the 2016 book "Prohibition on the Gold Coast of Long Island" by Jacqueline Singer.
