Former estate named "Wheatly" which was designed c. 1890 in the Colonial/Dutch Farmhouse style on originally 666 acres of land for Edwin Denison Morgan, III {financier, capitalist}. Morgan served as president of Candelaria Mining Co. Nassau Light & Power Co., and Corralitos Co. and director of Metropolitan Trust Co. He also commissioned Hicks Nurseries to ship matured trees for the landscape.

While the main home was demolished more than 50 years ago for a housing development, several of the outbuildings remain though the 300ft stable was destroyed in 1907 by fire and not rebuilt. Morgan's private chapel was converted into a residence by Mary Elizabeth Altemus Tippet in the 1950's. Its flanking wings, greenhouse, water tower, chauffeurs cottage, carpenter's cottage, and potting shed all remain intact. The squash court and swimming pool are also somewhat extant. Part of the land acreage has been deeded to the Glen Oaks Country Club.
