Notes: In the brief period of about 6 years from this house's original construction, it went from a modest 1 1/2-room structure to a more impressive 3-room home, complete with a large Greek Revival-influenced portico. The transformation was made possible by the financial success experienced by its first owner, Benjamin Franklin Henley, who had dealings in business and politics. Henley and his wife raised thirteen children on the property.
