The Carl Graffunder Lake House (1965) is a notable mid-century modern work by Carl Graffunder (1919-2013). Graffunder designed the house as his vacation home, he had already built a modern house in Golden Valley (1949 with subsequent expansions), but by the mid-1970s it became his yer-round residence. The A-frame house was featured in the 2005 book "Legendary Homes of Lake Minnetonka." His widow, Mariedawn Graffunder, continues to live in the house.
