The Jane and Walter R. Barry, Jr. House (1961) is a notable mid-century modern work by Robert Cerny (1908-1985), AIA; originally for the Wurtele family, they sold the house in 1972 to the Barrys while retaining land to the immedate south on which they build a different house in 1979. Barry is a retired executive, having worked at General Mills. His father, Walter R. Barry, Sr. was also a top executive and played an important role in the marketing of popular cereals such as Cheerios and Wheaties.
