The Duff Residence (1957-2012) was a very notable modern work by Elizabeth "Lisl" Close (1912-2011) and her husband Winston "Win" Close (1906-1997). Winner of the Twenty Five-Year Award from the Minnesota Society of the American Institute of Architects. The house featured a strongly geometric plan and striking triangulated eave/roof forms that seemed to almost borrow from the Prairie Style of Frank Lloyd Wright. Helen Duff lived in the house until her death. Featured on mid-century home tour conducted by Docomomo US MN. Despite efforts to save the home, it had fallen into disrepair from neglect by its owner and was bought in May 2012 for $569,950 and torn down. The Duff House was featured again in "Minnesota Modern: Architecture and Life at Midcentury" by noted architectural historian Larry Millett, AIA.

The current house is also modern, designed by Tim Alt, AIA, of ALTUS Architecture + Design.
