Mid-century modern house built in 1960 and 1966 on 0.75 acres by Elizabeth Close for notable local environmentalist Dick Gray, founder of the Freshwater Society. The house was severely damaged in a 1965 tornado, destroying everything but the block foundation and external concrete block walls, so Gray had the closes design a larger, year-round house using the existing walls and foundation. Gray died in 2014 at age 95, the house had been sold in 1993. Went on market in 2014 for $1,299,900 but did not sell.
