The David and Joan Wyer House II, aka the Strampe House (1974) is a notable modern work by Ralph Rapson (1914-2008). When the family of Emery Mapes (founder of Cream of Wheat Corp) decided to demolish their large house and divide the land on this point for redevelopment, the Wyers (David Glenn Wyer, Sr and Joan Grise Wyer) got first choice of lots and selected this one for its lake frontage; they already had a Ralph Rapson home not too far away and selected him to built their second house. As such, this is sometimes referred to as the Wyer House II.
