Notes: Upon his arrival in this area of Arkansas, Peter Newcomb Bragg purchased a sawmill for the purpose of producing wood for this house, but area demand for wood proved so great that it delayed the construction of his own home for several years. A brief skirmish took place near the Bragg House during the Civil War, close enough to necessitate the repair of several bullet holes in the side of the house.
