Historic road bridge listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Built: 1930-1931
Designer: Ira G. Hedrick
Builder: Austin Bridge Company (Dallas, TX)
Type: Double cantilever Warren truss
Length: about 1.9 miles
Carries: U.S. Highway 79
Crosses: First Old River (essentially an oxbow lake, which the bridge crosses twice) and White River (one crossing)
Still in use: yes
Date added to NRHP: 11/1/1984; boundary increase 9/28/2015
Other designations: part of the Clarendon Multiple Resource Area
Notes: This bridge's original NRHP listing only covered the easternmost portion of the bridge that falls officially within the Clarendon city limits. A boundary increase to the NRHP listing in September of 2015 added about 8,000 feet of western approach that is located outside city lines, which resulted in the entire bridge, which was all constructed at the same time, being covered by the NRHP nomination.
