This is a former railroad alignment connecting from the CN Rail line in Essex, to the Essex Terminal Railway line in Amherstburg. It was built by Michigan Central and New York Central in the 1880s, in an attempt to make a link across Grosse Ile. However, it was later converted to a spur route when the Michigan Central Railway Tunnel was built in Windsor. It was in use until 1993, when CN Rail donated it to the Essex Region Conservation Authority, for use as a bike trail.
