Located within the old Petite Côte lands. LaSalle and Windsor share the same title as the oldest continually inhabited European settlements west of Montreal (in Canada). In 1749, French families started settling this side of the river. In 1998, the Town of La Salle and the Township of Sandwich West were merged into an expanded Town of La Salle. Now, La Salle's downtown area.
