144-foot, 13-story early-modern residential building completed in 1950. Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, it is clad in red brick. The central entrance is set four steps below sidewalk level, with a polished red granite surround and a slightly upturned brass entrance marquee. To the left are three doors to ground-floor commercial medical offices and three windows, and to the right are three windows and one more commercial door. A stone band courses caps the ground floor, which is fronted by sidewalk plantings.
The upper floors have two bays of triple-windows in the center, flanked by two single-windows, and two more bays of triple-windows, all with stone sills. The facade is dotted with protruding air-conditioning units. The outer bays set back above the 10th floor; above, the top floors have chamfered corners with wrap-around window bands. The two center bays at the 11th floor have a projecting balcony, fronted by brick with a low metal railing on top. Above the balcony, the middle bays are slightly set-back, with angled inner corners. The outer wings, with chamfered corners at both the inner and outer edges, set back above the 12th floor, with the middle bays extending up to the 13th.
The side elevations are clad in the same brick, with five bays of single-windows. The rear facade is also clad in brick; the end bays have single-windows, those flanking the end bays have triple-windows, and the middle bays have double-windows, up to the 10th floor. There is a balcony at the center of the 11th floor, and setbacks at the side elevations above the 10th floor. All the bays of the rear facade on the 11th-12th floors have double-windows, and the top floor is further set back at the sides, with terraces, while the middle section has a band of windows topped by a sloping roof. A tall mechanical penthouse rises from the center of the roof. Many of the south-facing units have views of the cultural establishment that gave the condominium its name, The Morgan Library, which is located immediately to the south and west on the same block. The building was converted from apartments to condominiums in 1986 and contains 104 units.
