McDonald's (New York City, New York)

1-story commercial building originally completed in 1930. Designed by Charles N. Whinston, the building's original facade featured a long row of detailed small arches along the top, surmounted by a band of equally small panels each adorned by a pair of seahorses intertwined around a trident, and then a band of simple small squares with a low-sloped metal parapet.

Most of the facade was re-clad in grey granite in the late 1900s, when the building housed a Child's Restaurant, but the lively ornamental bands along the top survived until a 2017 renovation obscured them, except at the west end which is occupied by a florist, Noble Plant. The rest of the building is occupied by a McDonald's, and the new facade is clad in steel panels and glass, with wood paneling at the northeast corner. Along the top are overlapping panels of mesh metal screen and others of wooden slats, in varying shapes.
