Historic ruins of a former health resort and planned community listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Built: 1890-1936
Areas of significance: Politics/Government; Architecture; Social History
Area: less than 1 acre
Date added to NRHP: 2/17/1978
Notes: William "Coin" Hope Harvey was a prominent businessman, Democratic politician and author, and the creative force behind Monte Ne. The property consisted of several hotels (two of which were some of the largest log structures in the world), as well as recreational facilities. The resort failed financially in the early 1910s and the hotels (Missouri Row and Oklahoma Row) were utilized in various ways afterward. The damming of the White River in 1946, and the resultant creation of Beaver Lake in the process, caused much of what was once Monte Ne to become submerged in water. Today, ruins are all that remain of the two hotels and other elements of the resort. Oklahoma Row is listed individually on the NRHP, as well as part of Monte Ne as a whole.
