This is d place 2 take holy bath...at d meeting point of The Sacred River Ganga with d sea ........but 1 has 2 b very careful on this beach extending from Tapoban to the Light House in the west. However, according to the tide, the sea can recede far away from the actual waterline, so do not venture out during low tide... it can be tricky and you may find yourself surrounded by water. It is not advisable to go out swimming here, even local fishermen avoid that.

If you are looking for a peaceful holiday, stroll allong the beach and lay about. But above all, avoid the time Ganga Sagar pilgrimage month. The place is flooded with people from all over India, and it is very highly polluted for a long time afterwards from human waste.

However, other times of the year, this is a really nice getaway
