Banabibir Than (A hut type temple of Banabibi- the goddess of forest)

Here one can observe the worship (puja)of Banabibi organised by the fishermen and crab-hunters of near by villages.The worship held on the last Tuesday(Mongalbar)of the Bengali month of Baisakh every year.Only once in the year local people come here crossing the river in this Banabibir Than to worship the Banabibi in the jungle area of Tigers,as the puja (worship)completed by the early morning of the Mongalbar(Tuesday)all the people go back to their villages and on the occassion of this worship (puja) a fair called Jungaler Mela (the fair of jungle)held in Nagenabad , a near by village on the western side bank of the river, the fair starts in the afternoon of Tuesday (Mongalbar) and it continues to run for next seven days.
