residence, Tudor (architecture), LIGC - Long Island Gold Coast
Former 2,875sf residence c. 1918 of Edward Eugene Buck, songwriter and leader of the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers. He was the chief talent scout for Florenz Zigfeld as well as a writer for the Zigfeld Follies production. Because of his associations to the Zigfeld Follies, noted artist Joseph Urban was commissioned to decorate the home.
Buck lived here with his wife Helen, and his sons Eugene and George, with his younger brother George, and Helen's two sisters. After his death in 1951, the residence was sold.
