Hotel Scherman

5-story hotel originally completed in 1877 as a townhouse. It is faced in red-painted stucco above a wood-and-glass storefront and recessed entry. The 2nd floor has a wide band of wood-framed windows with eight panes. The top three floors are three bays wide, with the windows growing progressively shorter at each floor. They have projecting white stone surrounds with footed sills and cornices. The facade is crowned by a white metal roof cornice with brackets and panels. It was formally known as The Townhouse Inn.
