Lake Kleptuza (Velingrad)

Bulgaria / Pazardzhik / Velingrad

Lake Kleptuza is located in one of the most famous spa and balneological resorts in the country - Velingrad. The lake is the largest spring in Bulgaria of karst type - it is located on the right bank of the Chepinska River, in Chepino quarter, Velingrad. The park of the same name, together with its two lakes, is a symbol of the city. A large part of its water is used for drinking purposes, and the rest forms two lakes that flow into the Chepinska River, and then into the Maritsa River and the White Sea. To the south of the karst spring stretch pine forests, which have become a natural park visited by the city's residents and its guests.
