550 acres purchased by the Christian Community of Universal Brotherhood (CCUB) in 1909 as a new place of refuge, hence its name in Russian. These community Doukhobors built 7 communal villages with lumber works and irrigated farms. CCUB closed by 1938, and land sold by 1963.
