road bridge, 1999_construction, 1928_construction
This bridge carries M Street Northwest over Rock Creek and the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway. It is a three span steel beam bridge with concrete deck. It was built in 1928 and reconstructed in 1999. Being one of the few steel beam bridges along the Rock Creek Parkway, its design was opposed by the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, and a concrete façade was incorporated with the bridge.
