On September 12, 1971, Station #56 opened to serve North Dallas. It is unique in that it shares its location, Fretz Park, with a Branch Library, Swimming Pool and Recreation Center. This station has 4,390 feet and 2 1/2 bays. It houses Engine 56 and Rescue 56.
