The club was initially formed in 1946 and has been active ever since.

The club is open every Thursday evening from 20:00 for club night. All members are encouraged to attend as these are a great opportunity to meet other members and find out more about upcoming events. In addition, the club is also open Saturday and Sunday lunch times so that members can gather to discuss all things boating both in summer and winter. During the week, the clubhouse is open most days from 10:00 to 16:00 to allow members to maintain their boats or just partake of a nice cup of tea and a chat.

The club organises various rallies throughout the year within the Thames, Medway and further afield to the continent; these being enjoyed by all members regardless of experience. The rallies offer a great chance to visit new locations with plenty of help on hand if required and the social side too. The club also has an active racing section which not only holds races within the club throughout the season, but also successfully competes against other clubs on the river, offering the opportunity to compete at various levels.
