Pyramidal sandstone monument commemorating the Fort Chiswell Site. Fort Chiswell was a frontier fort dating to the mid 18th century. Most of the site was destroyed during construction of Interstate 77, and this 1924 monument is one of the only structures marking the site. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
