Final assembly area for Confederate units just prior to the Battle of Shiloh, April 6-7, 1862. At dawn on April 6, the four "corps" of Hardee, Bragg, Polk, and Breckenridge, all under General A.S. Johnston, begin moving to the northeast and encounter Union patrols in the vicinity of Fraley Field, at around 0530AM.
