This is the near best triangulation of the location of Roald Amundsen's Maudheim. Location is estimated based on topographical data and secondhand data from AHRS.
This site was occupied by Amundsen and members of his group during 1921-1922. Then by chance, 4 years later during the first flight over the North pole in the Airship "Norge" he caught site of it once more. While in the airship he leaned out and pointed to the site in which he had endured a winter at Maudheim 4 years prior. The flight started in Ny Alesund, Svalbard and continued over the north pole towards Nome, Alaska. It was just by great chance that he saw his old home once again.
