Historic residential retreat built by President Herbert Hoover in 1929 and used by the First Family during his term in office. The site was subsequently used for a number of other government functions, and also served briefly as both a camp for the Boy Scouts of America and a rural school. The site, which is also known as Camp Hoover, is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, where it is designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark District..
