residence, Tudor (architecture), LIGC - Long Island Gold Coast

The c.1930 Tudor mansion of Engineer John G. Baragwanath and his artist and socialite wife, Neysa McMein. The 7000+sqft home on 4+acres features 17 rooms. Baragwanath spent time as a mining engineer in Peru before starting his own mining advisory firm in New York in 1919. Jack and Neysa were active participants in the North Shore social life. It was possibly designed by James W. MacPherson (of the firm of MacPherson-Franklin).

Was later the home of Frederic G. Donner, who was the Chairman of General Motors from 1958-67. Afterwards, purchased by Nicholas J. Tassone, owner of Tassone Construction Co., Inc., a concrete and asphalt company that grew into a builder of homes and commercial structures.
