Chelsea Highline Hostel | hotel

USA / New Jersey / Weehawken / Eleventh Avenue, 182-184

4-story hostel completed in 1911 as a hotel, replacing a lumber yard. It has operated as a hotel continuously through its history, with various businesses occupying the ground floor, including an auto repair shop. The ground floor is faced in plain beige stucco, with the upper floors clad in beige brick. The south facade has a central section of widely-spaced windows with corbeled stone lintels on the 2nd & 3rd floors, and splayed lintels with keystone on the top floor. On the ends of this facade, brick quoins frame three bays windows with fulls stone enframements and cornices. The west facade, facing 11th Avenue, has the same stone enframements on the end bays, with the four center windows topped by splayed lintels with keystones. These windows are also spanned by fire escape landings with decorative iron railings on each floor.
