4-story Federal-style residential building originally completed in 1827 as a 3-story townhouse for Peter Sharpe, a congressman (from 1821-25). It was expanded between 1854 and 1859, and had a fourth floor added. A storefront was also installed in the 1850s. Until a 1967 remodeling, traced of the original sloping roofline could still be detected to the left of the fourth-story arched window on the Christopher Street side. The building was last renovated in 2005, and now serves as apartments. The ground floor is occupied by Brooklyn Industries Live Work Create apparel.
