4-story Greek-revival residential building originally completed as two separate buildings of the same design, but built almost 30 years apart for two members of the Demarest family. No. 82, the corner building, was completed in 1846 for Benjamin B. Demarest as a 3-story house, and raised to its present height in 1879. No. 84 was built for Peter N. Demarest in the 1870s as a 2.5-story house. It was raised to 3 full floors in 1972. A passageway on the right side of its southern facade led to what is known as Pamela Court. By 1900, No. 84 had acquired a fourth floor.

Both of the buildings are very simple, with red brick facades and contrasting stone lintels and windowsills. Brick parapets with stone copings were added at a later date. In the mid-1900s, No. 82 had a ground-floor store. The buildings were joined and converted to apartments in the mid-1900s.
