3-story Federal-style residential building originally completed in 1807 as a 2.5-story townhouse for John P. Roome, a sailmaker. It was raised to three stories around 1858. It has been altered several times in the 1900s. A chair factory, built in 1869, altered two years later, occupied the rear of the lot. Both structures now serve as apartments.
