61 Fifth Avenue

USA / New Jersey / Hoboken / Fifth Avenue, 61
 condominium, postmodern (architecture)

113-foot, 10-story postmodern residential building completed in 2014. Designed by Alta Indelman, the building is clad in limestone, granite, brick and glass. Although 10 stories high, the facade is articulated with large double-high windows for each of the four residences (spandrel glass at intermediate slabs) so as to visually reduce the scale of the building. The top floor is recessed at Fifth Avenue, and clad with standing-seam copper, prepatinated to achieve the gentle green color of similar “attic” stories on this stretch of historic lower Fifth Avenue. The ground floor is mostly occupied by Brandy Melville women's clothing store, with the residential entrance at the east end on 13th Street, with double-doors below a peaked, black canvas canopy.
