The James S. Markiewicz Solar Energy Research Facility allows both Valparaiso University faculty and undergraduates to conduct research for the future of solar power. At the heart of the facility is a solar furnace, one of only four such furnaces in the United States and the only one at an undergraduate institution in the United States.
