Three joined 6-story residential buildings completed in 1898. Designed by George Pelham, the facades are clad in buff-colored brick with horizontal banding on the 2nd, 3rd & top floors. The two center bays of each section are slightly recessed behind a black iron fire escape. The outer bays have full stone enframements with triangular pediments at the 4th floor. The western two facades are crowned by black metal roof cornice with brackets, modillions and dentils, but the cornice has been removed from the right side section. The ground floor of No. 174 is occupied by Peaceful Garden massage, and the ground floor of No. 178 by Cleantopia laundry/cleaners.
